The premise of this site is very simple: If you see ‘Place Your Keyword Here‘, you should place your keyword there.

Over the last few years, I’ve seen literally hundreds of people struggle to apply onsite SEO to their niche websites. I understand why - sometimes it’s really difficult to implement ideas that are in writing without a real world example.

This text itself and everything else on this site is meant to help you to see how you should set up a niche website and configure it for maximum onsite SEO. This should help me to explain these concepts better and will help the people that struggle to implement ideas that I have written about over the past few years.

Place Concepts Related To Your Keywords Here

In order to cover this topic, I’m going to have to explain to do how to do niche SEO properly. There are a few different concepts that relate to this topic and each will have to be covered in order to provide you with answers. My hope in providing you with answers is that you will end up linking to my niche site. When YOU provide answers to people that find your sites, you are in essence creating links because they will tell other people and will post in forums and on blogs.

Since I need to do a good job explaining how to place your keyword here with this site, I will do a break down for you here:

Place your keyword into the title of your niche site.

Create solid content that’s related to your keyword.

Use your keyword as a tag when you create posts.

Set up your permalinks properly.

What I want you to see as you go through this site is that it’s actually quite simple. I have only created like 5 posts but I have also made sure that I have covered this topic well. It doesn’t do you much good to create posts just to create them because you’ll never get any natural links. Since I have made sure that this topic is covered well I should get linked to and this should be one of your main goals.

What Other Concepts Relate To Placing Your Keywords Here?

As you can see, the home page of this site is meant to be an overview of how people should place their keywords into their niche sites. In order to create an effective home page, I should probably talk about other topics that are related to this one.

In this case, there are a few things that I can think of. People that are learning how to place keywords properly will probably need to learn how to do keyword research and also how to do offsite SEO. In this case I could also provide them with additional information about those concepts, or I could invite them to download additional resources that I have created on these related topics.

I wrote an e-book called ‘The Keyword Crash Course’ that specifically helps people to learn about keyword research, onsite SEO, and offsite SEO and if you’re interested in learning more about all of these concepts you can download my free book by entering your email here:

I sincerely hope that this little site will help you to see how your niche sites should be set up.

When you create a niche website, you will have to create some content that does a decent job covering the keyword topic you have chosen. I always like to create legit content that helps people to get some of their questions answered and this helps me in a few different ways. First of all, it helps me to create some natural links. If you can provide answers to people you will end up getting some decent links from forums, blogs, and other sites. This will help you to get some direct, referral traffic and will also provide you with an improvement in search engine rankings.

No matter how small my niche is, I always like to create at least 5 posts for my niche website. There was a time when we could rank well with a one page site but things have changed somewhat. It’s a lot easier to get ranked with a larger site and if we create 5 posts and use some tags (WordPress creates tag pages for you with these tags) we can get a decent amount of pages into Google’s index.

Keep in mind that 5 posts is the bare minimum. If I need more than 5 to properly cover ‘Place Your Keyword here’, I will create more. I would never create a site that was smaller than this because it would make it too hard to get it to rank well.

You’ll notice that when I created this little niche website, I didn’t use ‘Place Your Keyword Here’ in all of my post titles. If I had, the site would look very spammy and that would be quite dangerous. I instead opted to use words related to ‘Place Your Keyword Here’. I did use ‘Place Your Keyword Here’ in one of my post titles and that shouldn’t set off any spam flags, even if a Google search engineer visits your little site.

Each of my posts is providing real information for people and I would recommend doing the same. If your site is a good provider of information you won’t have to worry about getting banned or penalized. You need to balance that with the fact that you don’t need to create award-winning content. Do your best but you don’t want to take months to write a few posts, in fact I created this entire website in one morning.

When you write a post for your niche site, you want to make sure that you use your keyword as a tag. You will do this each and every time you create a new post. Doing this will help you in several ways but the most important reason for doing this is that it creates a second page on your site that is very relevant for ‘Place Your Keyword Here’. Think about it, when you tag from each of your posts, they will link to the ‘Place Your Keyword Here’ tag page. This will increase the PageRank and keyword authority for that tag page.

Overall this will help you to increase your relevancy score with Google for ‘Place Your Keyword Here’ and obviously that’s the name of the game when you’re dealing with niche website SEO.

To add ‘Place Your Keyword Here’ as a tag when you write a post, you simply type it into the ‘Tags’ box and click the ‘Add’ button. It will then be used as a tag when you publish the post. If you do this correctly, the ‘Tags’ box should look like this (with your keyword in place of ‘place your keyword here’) before you publish:

Make the change!

When you are first setting up and configuring your niche website, you need to make sure that your permalinks are set up properly. This ensures that you can place keywords into the URLs (web addresses) of your posts and pages. WordPress, by default, uses a silly number system for its URLs so you end up getting default URLs that look like this:

http://placeyourkeywordhere.com/?p=123

This is NOT what you want. Search engines like Google will award you with better rankings if you’re able to place keywords in your URLs so that they look like this:

http://placeyourkeywordhere.com/post-about-something-related-to-your-keyword/

Setting this up in WordPress is quite simple and will definitely have a positive payout. To set this up, you can follow this easy step-by-step:

Login to your WordPress admin.

Go to ‘Settings’.

Go to ‘Permalinks’.

Select ‘Custom Structure’.

Paste /%postname%/ into the box next to custom structure.

Click ‘Save Changes’.

If done properly, your screen should look like this:

Make the change!
